Alligator Harassment

There are reports that someone has been feeding the alligators out on the Backcountry Trail. There have also been sightings of people throwing rocks at Lefty. Please, don’t feed or harasss Lefty or any of the other alligators in the park. In Alabama, it is against the law to feed or harass alligators as they are a state protected species. In Orange Beach, it is a violation of Ordinance 2008-1069 to take, feed or harass any wild animal within corporate limits or within police jurisdiction.

In addition to a ticket to the offender, it’s not good for the alligator either. Many times the alligator will have to be removed from the park. So let’s give everyone a chance to enjoy the wildlife and let’s be good to all animals.
