Friends of the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail are volunteers and patrons whose continued support help protect, maintain and build future projects on the Trail for all to enjoy. Volunteer projects and work days are periodically scheduled and offer trail enthusiasts an opportunity to improve and preserve the trail system, restore native vegetation or work on Watchable Wildlife projects. The Backcountry Trail organization works to increase awareness of the Trail’s educational and recreational opportunities as well as foster community support through social activities and beautification projects. Host to many sports, holiday and public events during the year, the Trail has become a central component to Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and the Gulf State Park. All fundraising efforts through events and membership go towards building, improving and sustaining the Trail.
